Podia in action

Wondering if Podia is a better platform for you? Go behind the scenes in this video walkthrough, where Ben will show you the ins and outs of Podia’s software and how it can help your business.

What makes Podia different from Payhip?

It comes down to what the two platforms let you, the entrepreneur, do.

What attracted me to Podia as a content creator was the ability to build and foster a community while developing all my content in one place. I don’t know any other platform that does these two things so well.

Podia vs. Payhip: What's right for me?

Podia and Payhip are all-in-one platforms for selling your digital products, coaching offers, and courses. You can sell a variety of files, create interactive online courses, set up an ecommerce storefront, and access marketing tools like affiliates and coupons.

But even though some of the core functionality is similar, Payhip is primarily geared toward selling products while Podia has advanced selling, website, and email marketing tools all in one.

Here’s how Podia vs. Payhip compare to help you decide which option is right for you:

Podia vs Payhip for selling digital products and courses

Like I mentioned up top, both Payhip and Podia make it easy to sell digital downloads, memberships, online courses, and coaching. You can also build and sell unlimited courses and unlimited products with each platform.

Courses:

Both online course platforms let you add as many lessons and modules as you want, customize the course viewer, and add multi-media lessons with videos, text, images, quizzes, and downloads.

But when you use Podia for your courses, you also have some more options about your course’s availability. You can limit the number of seats you sell for a particular course, pick a future start date, or set a duration so students only have access for a certain timeframe.

You can also create a waitlist for your course, add coaching sessions within course modules, and integrate your course with Discord to create a community.

Other types of products:

Beyond courses, one big difference between the two is that Podia has webinars, and Payhip has physical products. Podia’s webinar feature integrates with Zoom and YouTube, and you can use live or prerecorded webinars as part of your sales funnels.

Payhip is the best platform if you want to sell physical products because they have ecommerce platform features like product SKUs, weight, inventory tracking, and product variations.

Both Podia and Payhip offer sales pages, coupons, payment plans, pre-selling, course completion certificates, and drip courses. And you can add upsells with both platforms to increase the value of each order at checkout.

For payment processing, you can integrate both tools with PayPal and Stripe. You can also set up your own affiliate program and manage your affiliate marketing efforts in-house.

Can I use Podia and Payhip for my website and blog?

Podia includes a full website with unlimited landing pages. You can also build a blog with unlimited blog posts.

Payhip lets you set up an online store and blog where you can sell products and tell people about your business. The store builder has different pre-made sections you can use to showcase your products.

But one key difference is that Payhip requires that you add a digital product before you can set up your online store. There doesn’t seem to be a way to make a Payhip website without also adding products, so this would limit the functionality for some users.

Podia, on the other hand, lets you make your own website whenever and however you want. You can use your website to promote products if you like, or you can simply use it as a hub for your online business before you have something to sell.

You can also set up your website as a link in bio page for social media, embed content from +1900 sources, customize your SEO titles and descriptions, and remove the header on certain pages for a streamlined look.

Podia also has a blog post importer so you can move any existing blog content over onto the platform. Plus, if you use Podia Email, you can automatically pull your blog posts into emails to share them with your audience.

Podia has built-in email marketing, Payhip has email integrations

Speaking of email...

Email marketing is an important way to promote your business, and you can send emails with both Podia and Payhip.

Payhip lets you send basic emails to your customers, but if you want more advanced tools like automations, custom tagging, email design options, and funnels, you’ll need to integrate with another email tool like AWeber, Mailchimp, GetResponse, or ConvertKit.

Podia, on the other hand, includes a full-featured email marketing tool on all plans. You get all email features (including automations, segmentation, filtering, campaigns, newsletters, and email templates) free for your first 100 subscribers. After that, you have the option to upgrade your email plan as your list grows.

Because everything is connected, it’s easy to make your emails match your branding and website. When you set your global colors in the Podia website builder, they’ll automatically show up in the Podia email builder too so everything looks cohesive. There are beautiful pre-made email templates that you can customize, or you can create your own template to use again and again.

You can also pull in blog posts and featured products right into your emails to share your work. Prefer to automate? Podia lets you automatically send email campaigns based on custom entrance and exit conditions.

For example, you could build an email campaign showcasing your paid products that automatically runs when someone signs up for your free lead magnet. Then when they purchase the product, they’ll automatically be removed from the campaign so they don’t keep getting promo emails for the product they already have.

Speaking of lead magnets, Podia also makes it easy to turn any digital download into a lead magnet. All you need to do is set the price to “free email delivery” and it will automatically be sent to your subscriber, and they’ll be added to your list.
